Cloud Engineer, DBA

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Deploy or transition client environments in accordance with the Cloud Adoption Framework, the Well-Architected Framework, and Atmosera’s internal implementation guidelines.

• Execute systems engineering across networking platforms, Azure IaaS and PaaS, Windows and Linux servers, hypervisors, storage solutions, and SaaS offerings.

• Manage Azure SQL Database environments, including provisioning, scaling, configuration, patching, and lifecycle management.

• Oversee backup and recovery strategies, incorporating failover groups, geo-replication, point-in-time restore, and long-term retention policies.

• Conduct query and index optimization, manage workloads utilizing Query Store, and apply performance tuning recommendations.

• Secure Azure SQL environments through RBAC, Private Link, Azure Key Vault, and firewall settings.

• Implement DevOps principles using ARM templates and Bicep to automate infrastructure and database tasks.

• Develop and sustain documentation such as runbooks, operating procedures, and governance frameworks.

• Work collaboratively with internal teams to enhance delivery processes and guarantee customer satisfaction.

• Comply with regulatory requirements, including but not limited to PCI-DSS, HIPAA/HITECH, IRS 1075, SOC 1 & SOC 2 Type II, and FedRAMP Medium.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 5 years of technical experience in cloud, hosting, or Managed Service Provider (MSP) environments.

• Technical certifications in Azure, SQL, Windows, Office 365, Linux, VMware, Cisco, Palo Alto, Bicep, or DevOps are advantageous.

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate or an equivalent certification is strongly preferred.

• Microsoft Azure certifications must be obtained within 90 days of employment, depending on existing certifications and skill level.

• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
