This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• The Cloud Engineer is tasked with the design, implementation, automation, deployment, and operation of production-grade services across various cloud vendors and infrastructure platforms for Smile Digital Health, its clients, and partners.

• This role collaborates with multiple teams to ensure that the infrastructure requirements are met for various departments, which include but are not limited to Information Services, Privacy & Security, Engineering, Product, Client Support, and Delivery.


⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in information technology, DevOps, infrastructure maintenance, system administration, cloud development, platform engineering, and/or automation development.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in supporting and developing templates and code for Kubernetes services, including HELM, Kustomize, and Kubernetes manifest files.

• At least 2 years in a role focused on supporting and maintaining critical infrastructure, handling support escalations, and ensuring key performance indicators (KPIs).

• Demonstrated expertise in a wide range of Cloud services with practical experience in building critical infrastructure from the ground up.

• Proven track record in constructing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and supporting Kubernetes and serverless infrastructure, including experience in building new clusters and migrating applications.

• Proficiency in scripting and programming languages such as PowerShell, Python, and Bash.

• Established experience in translating architectural and technical requirements into new cloud infrastructure.

• Intermediate-level cloud certifications are required, including associate-level certifications in AWS, Azure, and GCP, with professional-level certifications preferred.

• Kubernetes-related certifications, including but not limited to CKA, CKD, and CKS.

• Extensive experience with various core infrastructure technologies, including security, networking, databases, data streaming, deployment automation and tooling, monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with and support clients.

• Proven experience in maintaining documentation, including procedures, build books, and technical standards.
