Cloud Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Develop and sustain the cloud strategy in alignment with business objectives.

• Assess and propose cloud services, platforms, and technologies.

• Implement cloud solutions utilizing AWS.

• Plan and carry out the migration of applications and data to the cloud, ensuring smooth integration with ECS container platforms.

• Apply security best practices and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations within AWS environments.

• Monitor and enhance cloud resource utilization and performance across AWS.

• Collaborate closely with development, operations, and business teams to comprehend requirements and offer technical guidance on AWS.

• Develop and oversee cloud budgeting and cost optimization strategies for AWS.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.

• Active DOD Secret security clearance.

• At least 5 years of experience in cloud architecture or a related position.

• Strong grasp of cloud computing concepts, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.

• Extensive experience with AWS services (ECS, S3, Lambda, RDS, EKS, etc.).

• Significant experience with EKS or other Kubernetes technologies.

• Proficient in containerization technologies.

• Familiarity with DevOps practices, Infrastructure as Code (IAC), and tools (e.g., Jenkins, Git, Terraform).

• Active CompTIA Security+ certification.
