Cloud Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Facilitate strategic conversations with client stakeholders to outline the comprehensive migration roadmap, encompassing target state architecture, selection of cloud platforms, and integration methodologies.

• Perform thorough evaluations of the current on-premise VMware infrastructure to pinpoint architectural obstacles, inter-dependencies, and potential migration risks, offering expert advice for mitigation.

• Establish and oversee a set of cloud architecture principles and migration best practices. Create and maintain technical design documents that promote security, scalability, and operational excellence.

• Design and implement resilient cloud network and security frameworks, incorporating solutions such as Palo Alto to safeguard migrated workloads and ensure seamless connectivity between on-premise and cloud environments.

• Engage actively in and supervise the practical execution of migrating virtual machines and complex application workloads to the specified public cloud platforms (ROSA, AWS, Azure, GCP).

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven, extensive experience in architecting solutions across leading public cloud providers (AWS, Azure, and GCP).

• Significant hands-on experience in managing and executing large-scale VMware-to-public-cloud transformation initiatives.

• Advanced knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and container orchestration platforms, with specific expertise in OpenShift Container Platform and strategies for container migration.

• Strong capability in designing and implementing cloud network security measures, particularly with Palo Alto Networks solutions in a cloud setting.

• Exceptional communication and consulting abilities, with the skill to convey complex technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Preferred Qualifications: Professional-level cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Google Professional Cloud Architect).

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.

• Demonstrated expertise in architecting CI/CD pipelines, automating application deployments, and orchestrating cloud infrastructure provisioning.
