This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as the technical delivery leader for a comprehensive federal cloud migration initiative, overseeing outcomes from architecture to deployment, stabilization, and operational readiness.
• Provide technical guidance in the design, evaluation, and enhancement of cloud-based architectures, ensuring that solutions are secure, scalable, compliant, and in line with federal and organizational standards.
• Propel execution with urgency, sustaining momentum across teams and stakeholders while proactively identifying and addressing risks, dependencies, and delivery challenges.
• Navigate through uncertainty and challenges, including changing requirements, limited resources, legacy systems, and stakeholder pushback.
• Manage upward communication and escalation, ensuring that leadership is promptly informed about risks, obstacles, trade-offs, and necessary decisions.
• Collaborate with end-users, business stakeholders, and technical teams to articulate and translate requirements into actionable cloud solutions.
• Lead cross-functional teams in defining technical specifications, system designs, and data architectures for secure cloud systems.
• Team up with program management to strategize and oversee objectives, milestones, sequencing, and delivery plans that align with program goals.
• Assess resource needs and effort estimates, identifying capacity shortfalls early and suggesting mitigation strategies.
• Anticipate, monitor, and resolve technical risks and issues throughout the planning and execution phases.
• Oversee the cloud migration process and timeline from start to finish, including planning cutover, contingency and rollback strategies, and post-deployment validation.
• Create technical roadmaps and contribute to the product and platform vision, balancing immediate delivery with long-term modernization objectives.
• Generate clear, high-quality technical documentation, including architectural diagrams, design documents, roadmaps, and as-built artifacts.
• Effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences, including engineers, program managers, executives, and federal clients.
• Present strategies, risks, and roadmaps to leadership to foster alignment and facilitate timely decision-making.
• Continuously enhance delivery practices, standards, and guidelines, serving as a force multiplier for the program.
• Over 3 years of experience as a Cloud Architect, showing a progression into senior technical leadership and delivery ownership roles.
• More than 10 years of experience in advancing cloud engineering positions.
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience in delivering complex cloud solutions in regulated settings.
• Proven experience as a technical lead on cloud initiatives, including solution architecture, requirements management, and product ownership, with responsibility for delivery outcomes.
• Experience leading cloud-enabled transformation initiatives, preferably within the federal government.
• Strong consulting abilities with a proven track record of leading through influence, managing upward, and promoting urgency and accountability among stakeholders.
• Proficient in using productivity tools such as Microsoft Office Suite and Visio to clearly explain complex technical activities (architectures, project roadmaps, applications, etc.) tailored to various audiences, from technical to non-technical.
• Extensive hands-on experience with the Microsoft Cloud stack, including Azure and Entra ID, with the capability and willingness to learn additional technologies as required.
• Experience utilizing Microsoft Graph, PowerShell, and Azure CLI to automate and streamline cloud delivery processes.
• Familiarity with implementing Microsoft cloud identity solutions, including Conditional Access, application federation, hybrid identity, identity governance, Azure RBAC, managed identities, and service principals.
• Knowledge of NIST SP 800-series frameworks, particularly NIST 800-53 and 800-63, along with relevant CISA guidance.
• Hands-on experience in documenting security controls, implementing cloud security baselines, and supporting ATO activities.
• Experience with DevSecOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, configuration management, and compliance as code.
• Familiarity with a second cloud platform (AWS or GCP) is preferred.
• Federal experience is required.
• Must be able to obtain a U.S. Government Public Trust clearance (active Public Trust is strongly preferred).
