Cloud Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Develop and implement infrastructure for the entire AI lifecycle, encompassing data pipelines, model training, experimentation, deployment, and monitoring.

• Design scalable solutions tailored for AI workloads and automation processes.

• Document and execute AI design patterns, including microservices, model serving architectures, and automation strategies.

• Construct, enhance, and optimize infrastructure for large language models and workflow automations.

• Choose and design vector databases and embedding systems for Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and semantic search applications.

• Lead projects in architecture, technology design, and deployment using suitable methodologies to create production-ready cloud solutions.

• Oversee and validate the work of project team members implementing AI-driven solutions.

• Assist in the architecture of application/infrastructure solutions within AWS.

• Design, migrate, and implement complex, resilient, and cost-effective AWS and Flexspring cloud infrastructure solutions.

• Define a cloud strategy that emphasizes cost optimization, resource utilization, IAM, security posture, and governance.

• Generate architectural diagrams, project plans, technical documentation, and technology roadmaps; present designs at Architecture Review Board meetings.

• Collaborate with IT security teams to develop security policies, standards, and guidelines.

• Ensure that cloud solutions adhere to security and compliance controls as well as company standards.

• Maintain an expert-level understanding of commercial cloud platforms.

• Train and mentor colleagues while sharing critical knowledge within the team.

• Provide technical leadership and architectural support for secure, scalable cloud capabilities and third-party integrations.

• Participate in hiring assessments for candidates joining the cloud infrastructure team.

• Promote transparency, automation, continuous improvement, and technical excellence.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field is mandatory.

• Over 5 years of experience in networking and virtualized system administration to deliver comprehensive Cloud Infrastructure architectures and designs.

• More than 3 years of experience in architecting, designing, and constructing cloud IaaS and PaaS architecture solutions.

• Experience related to AWS is essential.

• At least 3 years of experience in implementing cloud application architecture, automation, orchestration, governance, and security frameworks for public cloud deployments.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience with container-based systems and orchestration services such as Docker, Docker Swarm, and Kubernetes.

• Familiarity with identity frameworks, including OAuth, OpenID, and SAML.

• Capability to maintain expertise in vulnerability and threat management best practices.

• Strong understanding of security protocols, cryptography, authentication, authorization, and security measures.

• Awareness of emerging cloud technologies and their ecosystems.

• Experience with IT governance, risk, and compliance management.

• Complete mastery of Linux operating systems.
