Cloud Applications DevOps Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Zealand.

📋 Description

• Validate and confirm resolved defects, enhancements, and newly delivered features to ensure quality, stability, and alignment with business needs prior to release.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to assess data extracts, dashboards, and reports, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and valuable insights for informed decision-making.

• Participate in a 24x7 on-call schedule as necessary, delivering timely support and ensuring the continuity of critical platform operations.

• Manage and resolve incidents within established operational SLA targets, maintaining clear communication and ownership until resolution.

• Provide technical assistance to the Security Operations Centre (SOC), aiding in investigations, system health checks, and incident triage.

• Conduct repeat fault analysis and root cause investigations, identifying underlying issues and implementing preventative measures to minimize recurrence.

• Perform quality assurance (QA) on reporting data, pipelines, and outputs to uphold high data integrity and reliability across platforms.

• Monitor cloud applications and services to proactively identify risks, performance issues, and opportunities for optimization.

• Support continuous improvement initiatives by pinpointing automation opportunities and streamlining operational processes.

• Collaborate closely with DevOps, engineering, and business teams to ensure seamless deployment, integration, and ongoing support of cloud-based applications.

• Maintain documentation for processes, incidents, and system changes to facilitate knowledge sharing and operational transparency.


⛳️ Requirements

• Understanding and experience in the telecommunications industry.

• Knowledge and experience with data extraction, SQL, and reporting.

• Familiarity with software development principles and the software development lifecycle (SDLC).

• Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language (e.g., Golang, Python, JavaScript) to support test automation and tooling.

• Demonstrated customer and stakeholder focus.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Practical understanding of AI-assisted tools (e.g., for code generation, analysis, monitoring, or reporting).

• Ability to leverage AI to enhance productivity, data validation, and operational efficiency.

• Recognizes opportunities to automate repetitive tasks and improve workflows.
