Cloud Application Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Lead initiatives for migrating and modernizing enterprise workloads transitioning to AWS.

• Develop and implement strategies for rehosting, replatforming, and refactoring based on application architecture and business requirements.

• Perform application discovery, assess codebases, and map dependencies to guide migration and modernization choices.

• Create and execute cloud-native application architectures utilizing microservices and serverless design patterns.

• Transform monolithic applications into modular, scalable components as necessary.

• Propel the modernization of application code, frameworks, and runtime environments (.NET/Java/Python).

• Enhance and integrate CI/CD pipelines to facilitate modern application development and deployment.

• Collaborate with diverse teams to guarantee smooth application transformation and delivery.

• Offer technical leadership and mentorship while remaining actively involved in design and development.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in full-stack application development using contemporary frontend and backend technologies.

• Strong expertise in backend programming languages such as Java, C#, Node.js, and Python.

• Significant experience with TypeScript and modern frontend frameworks like React, Angular, or comparable.

• Proven track record in building enterprise-grade web applications and RESTful APIs utilizing microservices architecture.

• Comprehensive knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, SCSS, and frontend frameworks (Bootstrap, Material UI, etc.).

• Solid grasp of object-oriented programming (OOP) and modern software design principles.

• Experience with API design, integration, and application security (OAuth, JWT, etc.).

• Proficient in working with relational and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).

• Practical experience with CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and contemporary DevOps practices.

• Experience in designing and deploying applications on AWS (preferred) or other cloud platforms.

• Hands-on experience with cloud migration and modernization (rehost, replatform, refactor).

• Strong understanding of microservices, API-first, and distributed system architectures.

• Ability to lead architectural design while maintaining hands-on involvement in development.

• Experience in conducting code reviews, upholding coding standards, and ensuring security best practices.

• Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve complex production issues and optimize performance.

• Proven capability to mentor teams and instill engineering best practices.
