
Clinical Vendor Acquisition Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Assess clinical protocols and study documents to establish vendor scope, compatibility, qualifications, and study prerequisites.
• Identify suitable clinical vendors based on the protocol and sponsor-supplied study documentation.
• Perform market analysis on vendor capabilities, pricing structures, and associated risks.
• Build and sustain a preferred vendor network.
• Oversee RFPs, RFQs, and the vendor selection process.
• Prepare, evaluate, negotiate, and finalize vendor agreements in collaboration with legal and finance teams.
• Monitor contract renewals, expirations, amendments, and compliance obligations.
• Address vendor-related issues impacting clinical execution or study timelines.
• Establish performance metrics and evaluate vendor performance against SLAs and KPIs.
• Resolve service, performance, and billing discrepancies.
• Promote continuous improvement and cost-saving initiatives.
• Maintain vendor documentation and compliance records.
• Act as the clinical liaison for vendors.
• Standardize communication among vendors, SSU teams, and internal stakeholders.
• Develop vendor management processes, tools, templates, and training resources.
• Advise stakeholders on vendor requirements, protocol expectations, training, and procedures.
• Engage in governance calls and internal meetings to report on vendor performance and risk status.
• Manage internal databases in SharePoint and Salesforce.
• Review study information and utilize internal databases, trackers, and dashboards.
• Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, healthcare, nursing, or a related field is required; advanced degree is preferred.
• 3–5 years of experience in clinical operations, vendor management, or clinical trial start-up.
• Previous vendor-facing experience in clinical trials is essential.
• Familiarity with vendor acquisition, management, and contracting processes.
• Proficient in CTMS, clinical portals, and project tracking applications.
• Strong grasp of clinical protocols, trial execution, and start-up procedures.
• Experience collaborating with site networks; direct site-based experience is highly valued.
• Proven experience interacting with investigators, clinical staff, and site teams.
• Skilled in reviewing, interpreting, and providing feedback on vendor agreements.
• Demonstrated ability to manage the complete lifecycle of vendor contracts.
• Data management expertise for tracking KPIs, vendor performance, and escalation logs.
• Capability to negotiate with vendor partners and ensure accountability for timelines and deliverables.
• Experience in creating and implementing new processes.
• Strong cross-functional communication skills in a dynamic, matrixed environment.
