This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Wisconsin.
• Evaluate clinical trial contracts at the departmental level and forward them to Research and Sponsored Programs for legal assessment.
• Engage in billing compliance review activities.
• Create clinical trial budgets in accordance with UW, SMPH, and Cancer Center policies and relevant regulations.
• Negotiate budgets with sponsors of clinical trials and contract research organizations.
• Set up budgets in the OnCore Clinical Trials Management System for the post-award team.
• Manage contract and budget amendments when there are changes in trials.
• Coordinate communication with both internal and external stakeholders, including disease-oriented teams, research pharmacy, RSP, the SMPH Dean’s office, sponsors, and CROs.
• Collaborate with campus partners to create new accounts in the financial accounting system.
• Prepare and submit proposals, award documents, and sponsored project agreements in alignment with policies and deadlines.
• Ensure the accuracy of financial data in departmental financial systems and databases.
• Assess proposal budgets for compliance and precision under sponsor and campus guidelines.
• A minimum of one year of experience in research administration, finance, and/or clinical trials.
• Relevant experience may encompass protocol management, study participant management, billing compliance, financial oversight, regulatory management, or QA/Compliance.
• Experience in developing, negotiating, and modifying clinical trial budgets is preferred.
• Familiarity with both industry-sponsored and investigator-initiated trials is preferred.
• Experience in managing a portfolio of projects is preferred.
• Proficiency with a Clinical Trials Management System, such as OnCore, is preferred.
• Experience with oncology clinical trials is preferred.
