Clinical Pharmacist, Oncology Specialty

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Deliver safe, efficient, patient-focused, evidence-based medication services.

• Accurately verify medication orders and/or dispense medications in accordance with state and federal regulations.

• Thoroughly document services in a complete, accurate, and timely manner.

• Ensure pharmacy operations align with national accreditation standards.

• Maintain professional relationships with patients.

• Educate and mentor students, residents, caregivers, and/or patients.

• Provide patient counseling and conduct follow-up calls.

• Offer expert drug information.

• Review oral and chemotherapy medication orders for correct dosing, frequency, and administration.

• Evaluate patient profiles to identify safe medication combinations.

• Work flexible shifts as required in a PRN capacity.


⛳️ Requirements

• PharmD or Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from an accredited institution.

• Current state licensure as a Registered Pharmacist (RPh), or eligibility for reciprocity in the current state within 90 days of hire.

• For individuals required to administer immunizations: current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).

• For individuals required to administer immunizations: completion of a Board of Pharmacy-approved immunization administration course or certification obtained within 90 days of hire.

• Capability to understand drug indications, effects, side effects, and interactions.

• Ability to assess patient profiles and determine safe medication combinations.

• Physical ability to stand and walk for extended periods, approximately 75% of the shift.

• Manual dexterity for computer operations and dispensing tasks.

• Capacity to lift up to 30 lbs.

• Ability to perform reaching, stretching, stooping, climbing steps, and sitting.

• Normal or corrected vision.

• Effective communication skills, both over the phone and in-person.

• Compliance with required personal protective equipment.

• Adherence to the annual influenza vaccination program or approved exemption.

• Preferred: board certification.

• Preferred: completion of PGY1 residency, fellowship, or 2 years of relevant post-graduate pharmacy experience.

• 1–2 years of oncology experience is highly preferred.

• PGY2 residency or relevant experience is preferred for specialized pharmacy practice areas.
