This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Analyze clinical diagnostic testing results following established standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Review and synthesize pertinent medical literature and clinical data.
• Evaluate and categorize genetic variants.
• Independently compose clear and precise clinical testing results.
• Adhere to variant classification guidelines and report generation protocols to ensure quality and timely delivery.
• Participate in training sessions regarding reporting protocols and provide constructive feedback.
• Recommend improvements for processes and systems.
• Maintain proficiency in the clinical and technical domains relevant to the role.
• Assist with technical troubleshooting as required.
• Contribute to guideline development and aid in training new Clinical Genomic Scientists.
• Collaborate and communicate with team members, exchanging feedback during discussions.
• Engage with internal departments to address or escalate issues as necessary.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned.
• Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Genetics, or a related scientific discipline, or a Master's in Genetic Counseling from an accredited institution, or a Master's in Genetics, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a similar field.
• Over 2 years of experience in reviewing primary genetics literature, variant classification, writing genetic evidence summaries, drafting clinical reports, or analyzing sequencing results.
• Comprehensive and continuous knowledge of current theories and principles in human genetics.
• Capability to comprehend and assess genetic data and related literature.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
• Capacity to thrive in and contribute to a dynamic, highly collaborative environment.
• Familiarity with diagnostic testing methods, including next-generation sequencing, Sanger sequencing, microarray, and MLPA.
• Proficiency in clinical and technical aspects pertinent to the position.
• Strong foundational knowledge of human genetics and concepts related to diagnostic genetic testing.
