This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nebraska.
• Accountable for assessing clinical compliance and quality across all dimensions of clinical operations.
• Manage and facilitate local orientation while contributing to the development and oversight of recurring continuing education training for clinical team members in the designated area to ensure and uphold necessary competencies.
• Create and assist in generating scenario-based and clinical content for onboarding new hires and recurrent clinical staff.
• Support the mentoring of clinicians who are placed on clinical education plans.
• Organize activities to secure and maintain accreditation.
• Engage in air medical research initiatives.
• Aid in the enhancement and maintenance of clinical quality, compliance, accreditation, and successful reaccreditation efforts.
• Serve as a clinical expert.
• Lead and support the RCEM in new employee orientation, including oversight of schedules and base assignments.
• Provide direction to orientees and preceptors, embodying a role model throughout the orientation process.
• This encompasses the development of area-specific orientation of local protocols and procedures for new hires.
• Collaborate with the RCEM and RCD to assist in the management of new employees’ clinical preceptorship.
• Work together with area RCEM and RCD in maintaining shared educational resources accessible to all flight crews in the region to support the enhancement and upholding of clinical quality.
• Actively participate in and instruct simulation labs, invasive labs, and other learning technology programs to assess and improve training for new and recurrent clinical personnel.
• Lead the development of content and continuing education requirements to ensure compliance and quality with all accrediting, regulatory, and credentialing bodies.
• Support the execution of management decisions that impact air medical practices in the clinical domain.
• Plan educational programming for new and evolving care programs.
• Assist in the crafting of policies and procedures as needed to support the maintenance of clinical quality.
• Develop simulation and various learning technology scenarios to enhance clinical competency and learning stages.
• Assess the performance of clinical personnel during educational programs and leverage findings for continuous improvement.
• Integrate objective evaluation of classroom and clinical performance into an evidence-based assessment framework.
• Utilize measurement tools and statistical analysis, seeking guidance when necessary.
• Support the RCEM, RCD, and Director of Clinical Education in evaluating educational requirements (didactic, clinical, certifications, specialty equipment, and training) across the region and for established programs acquired by Air Methods.
• Oversee the annual competency training, protocol testing, and initial training for new medical equipment and/or procedures.
• Assist in the development and revision of medical standards and guidelines in coordination with the RCEM, Director of Clinical Education, RCD, and Medical Director(s).
• Contribute to the maintenance of accreditation and successful reaccreditation.
• Support the RCEM in creating region-specific guidelines for the Training Blueprint.
• Accept appointments to committees and workgroups, actively engaging to influence improvements in patient care.
• Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN); along with five or more years of relevant experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• A minimum of four years of previous flight experience.
• Two years or more of experience in education/instruction.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a high capacity for collaboration at all levels.
• Capability to be a team player with a professional demeanor.
• Proficient in managing multiple tasks efficiently, thriving in a dynamic environment while maintaining strong attention to detail.
• Experience in high-fidelity simulation is preferred.
• Specialty or subject matter expertise in one or more areas, including ventilation, airway management, mechanical circulatory devices, resuscitation, high-risk obstetrics, pediatrics, or neonatal management.
• Willingness to participate and rotate as an administrator on call for specialty equipment and high-risk patient populations.
• Demonstrates proficiency in navigating and communicating within a complex environment.
• Encourages the achievement of educational and developmental goals across multiple disciplines.
• Engages with all disciplines in an ethical, consistent, fair, timely, appropriate, and decisive manner in alignment with organizational policies.
• Proficient in Microsoft Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Skilled in Smartsheet or other software as a service (SaaS); holds certificates, licenses, and registrations that meet the qualifications for Flight Nurse or Flight Paramedic Specialty certification in compliance with CAMTS standards (CFRN or FP-C required).
