Clinical Assistant – Licensed Assistant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Assist licensed and/or certified practitioners in delivering patient care for orthotic and/or prosthetic devices under indirect supervision.

• Prepare treatment rooms and patients.

• Create and adjust molds while performing technical fabrication tasks.

• Carry out administrative duties and ensure precise patient-care documentation.

• Assess specific orthotic and prosthetic needs; measure, cast, fit, and modify devices.

• Execute selected patient-care procedures and make adjustments to device fittings.

• Provide follow-up care for designated orthotic and prosthetic patients.

• Handle shipping, receiving, inventory control, and clerical responsibilities.

• Communicate with vendors to order prosthetic and orthotic materials.

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.

• Adhere to safety, Medicare, governmental, blood-borne pathogen, and OSHA guidelines.

• Support hospital-based postoperative care when licensed and trained internally.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.

• ABC Assistant licensure in orthotics, prosthetics, or both is required.

• Must possess, or be eligible to obtain, a valid driver's license and maintain a driving record that meets Hanger’s criteria.

• Willingness to consult with certified clinicians during patient care as necessary.

• Capability to follow both written and verbal instructions.

• Manual dexterity to safely and effectively use laboratory tools.

• Understanding of biomechanical principles.

• Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication abilities.

• Excellent organizational skills with the capacity to prioritize and plan to meet deadlines.

• Ability to act with integrity, honesty, transparency, and respect.

• Patient-centered approach with the ability to build trust.

• Ability to promote open collaboration and constructive dialogue.
