This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.
• Conduct confidential assessments for substance use and mental health, either in-person or via telehealth, to evaluate clients' need and level of care.
• Make appropriate placements based on the outcomes of assessment interviews.
• Utilize a strengths-based and trauma-informed methodology to collaborate with clients and internal treatment teams to support clients in achieving their treatment objectives.
• Offer clinical consultation to referral sources, family members, and others to assist clients in their treatment journeys.
• Work closely with clients to involve them in decision-making and help them comprehend the advantages of assessments and accessing suitable levels of care.
• Gather and review referral information once clients are assigned from referral sources, consulting with others as necessary to facilitate service coordination and scheduling of assessments.
• Collaborate with Admissions, front desk personnel, and other staff to confirm appointment details with clients and guardians.
• Collect information from collateral sources to assist in diagnosing and determining treatment needs.
• Based on assessments, refer clients to the most suitable programs and agencies to ensure they receive the right level of care for their treatment needs.
• Monitor client engagement with the program to help overcome treatment barriers; timely follow up with clients and guardians to evaluate satisfaction with program adjustments.
• Model and promote health and wellness activities as well as healthy coping mechanisms for clients.
• If a client is admitted to one of Northpoint’s facilities, coordinate the admission and intake process with appropriate staff for a smooth transition into treatment; if referred to another agency, ensure all required documentation is forwarded with proper authorization.
• Collaborate with clients’ funding sources and Northpoint’s Utilization Review team to secure initial authorizations for reimbursement of treatment and support services.
• Work cooperatively with the legal system to ensure service coordination, including attending court appearances when necessary.
• Complete documentation requirements and maintain high-quality, up-to-date clinical records, including Outcomes Survey data and billing information; enter required details into the electronic medical records (EMR) system.
• Keep informed about other agencies and programs, maintaining a resource list to share with clients and their families.
• Ensure compliance with internal and external policies, regulations, and standards.
• Participate in all assigned meetings, staff development, and training as required.
• Provide backup support to Counselors during group and individual therapy sessions as needed.
• Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures.
• Maintain confidentiality in line with established policies, procedures, and care standards.
• Perform other clinically relevant services and special projects as assigned.
• Master’s Degree in Mental Health, Social Sciences, or a related field is required.
• Active mental health licensure in the state where treatment services are provided is required.
• If substance use licensure is not currently active, must be willing to apply for it.
• Must maintain applicable state licensure requirements upon hiring and throughout employment.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a relevant field demonstrating knowledge and skills in treating mental health disorders.
• Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment in all aspects of job performance, including upholding professional boundaries and strict confidentiality regarding client activities and documentation.
• Experience with trauma-informed care and cognitive behavioral therapies such as DBT, CBT, and motivational therapies.
• Capability to apply clinical judgment, ethics, and accountability in the formulation and implementation of treatment plans and clinical documentation.
• Ability to work effectively with a diverse population and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills essential for treating adolescent clients.
• Must establish strong personal boundaries while building rapport with patients.
• Must understand and adhere to the ethical standards set forth by the respective licensure governing board.
