This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Montana.
• Collect blood specimens by performing venipunctures on patients at Tempus.
• Ensure the integrity of specimens by utilizing aseptic techniques and adhering to departmental protocols.
• Prepare, label, and package specimens for laboratory analysis.
• Track collected specimens by initialing, dating, and recording collection times.
• Confirm test orders by cross-referencing patient information with requisition forms.
• Verify patient identity before each draw and ensure the accuracy of the test requisition.
• Schedule blood draws and coordinate collection timelines.
• Oversee sample shipments between Tempus, client pathology, and partner facilities.
• Update job status and specimen tracking details in Tempus systems.
• Manage phlebotomy supplies and kit inventory at the account.
• High School Diploma or equivalent is required; a BS/BA degree or RN is preferred.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in phlebotomy is required; oncology experience is preferred.
• National Phlebotomy Certification is required or must be obtained according to state regulations.
• Proven proficiency in venipuncture, aseptic techniques, and specimen handling.
• Experience with Epic or similar EMR systems is preferred.
• Strong customer service skills and the ability to work independently in a client-embedded environment.
