This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Operate within a hospital radiology setting to assess and resolve imaging equipment issues and carry out necessary repairs.
• Analyze fundamental customer biomedical equipment problems, execute appropriate repairs, and as needed, conduct planned maintenance (PM), safety, and environmental inspections while fostering strong customer relationships.
• Adhere to relevant GEHC policies, procedures, and hospital protocols, completing required documentation as directed.
• Conduct Preventative Maintenance on assigned equipment.
• Carry out safety and environmental inspections to ensure compliance with Health and Human Services and Environmental Health and Safety regulations.
• Record all repair activities and submit reports/summaries according to established timelines.
• Maintain an approved inventory of parts.
• Oversee vendor service delivery processes in accordance with GEHC policies as instructed.
• Maintain regular communication with customers to ensure issue resolution and appropriate follow-up, leading to enhanced customer satisfaction.
• Acquire and ensure proper handling of tools and testing equipment, ensuring they are calibrated correctly.
• Enhance and sustain technical knowledge of current standards, codes, and procedures related to the safe and effective use of medical equipment.
• Provide mentorship and assistance to more experienced technicians on advanced repairs and solutions, working collaboratively as part of the local team to ensure efficient service delivery across all accounts within the designated area.
• Comply with Health and Human Services and Environmental Health and Safety requirements.
• Complete all scheduled Quality and Compliance training within defined deadlines.
• Promptly identify and report any customer quality or compliance issues to the Quality Organization.
• AS, BS, MS degree, military education, certificate program, or current student nearing completion (within 12 months), OR High School Diploma/GED with 6 months of experience in servicing electronic, IT, or mechanical equipment.
• Must possess reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is mandatory.
• Prior experience interpreting schematic diagrams and performing effective repairs and planned maintenance on basic biomedical or electronic equipment.
• Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to relay technical issues to customers in an understandable manner.
• Capability to develop and maintain positive customer relations.
• Experience collaborating with both internal team members and external customers as part of a service-oriented solution process.
• Background in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electromechanical, and/or electronic equipment within the electronic field, demonstrating knowledge of electronic digital circuitry and understanding of electronic and electro-mechanical devices.
