This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +2 more states.
• Spearhead the expansion of Apex’s infrastructure services in your assigned local market.
• Formulate and implement a strategic initiative to enhance relationships with municipal, utility, and public-sector clients.
• Utilize existing client connections and your market knowledge to position Apex as a reliable regional partner.
• Work in collaboration with Divisional and Regional Leadership to synchronize local efforts with Apex’s overarching infrastructure strategy.
• Act as a trusted advisor to municipal and utility clients, gaining insights into their infrastructure priorities and funding avenues.
• Identify and pursue new project opportunities, oversee proposal development, and manage interview and negotiation processes.
• Promote cross-selling of Apex’s complementary environmental, construction, and compliance services.
• Represent Apex at professional associations, technical committees, and industry conferences.
• Supervise the delivery of municipal infrastructure projects, including water and wastewater treatment, distribution/collection systems, stormwater management, transportation, or civil engineering.
• Ensure technical proficiency, quality assurance, and compliance with scope, timelines, and budgets.
• Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and QA/QC oversight to project teams.
• Manage project performance metrics, including backlog, utilization, and profitability.
• Recruit, mentor, and develop engineers, project managers, and technical staff to enhance Apex’s local presence.
• Cultivate a collaborative, high-performance environment centered on client satisfaction and technical excellence.
• BS or MS Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or a related engineering field.
• 15+ years of experience in municipal infrastructure.
• Preferred registration as a Professional Engineer in MA, CT, or NH.
• Proven track record in developing new markets, acquiring key municipal clients, and meeting financial growth objectives.
• Strong history of mentoring, team development, and leading cross-discipline project teams.
• Demonstrated capability to work effectively with clients in a progressive manner to foster growth and sustained performance through effective leadership.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Passion for managing and mentoring staff at all levels.
