Clearing Operations Associate – Corporate Actions

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North America.

📋 Description

• Act as the primary owner and processor for distributions (such as dividends and interest), reorganizations (including reverse splits and mergers), and redemptions (like maturities and calls).

• Thoroughly review and verify corporate action event details with a strong focus on accuracy prior to posting them to customer accounts, thereby reducing the risk of errors and potential exposure for the firm.

• Engage daily with external vendors and custodians (DTC, OCC, BNY, ICE) to ensure the correctness of event and allocation details.

• Balance and reconcile all recorded corporate actions against the relevant suspense and wash accounts, ensuring that the corporate action house accounts are balanced on a daily basis.

• Investigate discrepancies and open items to prevent them from aging.

• Act as the subject matter expert (SME) for corporate actions, providing support to both internal departments and external partners.

• Address corporate action-related Zendesk tickets and manage voluntary corporate action requests.

• Improve and refine procedures to include new tasks, asset classes, and other processes.

• Collaborate with engineering to assist in the automation of daily self-clearing processes.

• Maintain curiosity by learning about other areas within the clearing space to support during downtime.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in Corporate Actions.

• Hands-on experience with Direct DTC Corporate Action Web.

• Familiarity with ICE CA data, BNY processing, and the OCC Option CA process.

• Understanding of Brokerage Clearing operations and a general knowledge of U.S. securities back office operations within a clearing firm.

• Awareness of the rules, regulations, and laws governing the financial industry.

• Ability to work independently in a remote setting with meticulous attention to detail, as well as collaboratively within a team.

• Capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.

• Basic knowledge of SQL, Metabase, or other database coding languages.

• Proficiency in adapting between Microsoft and Google document and spreadsheet solutions.

• Must be able to adjust to the constantly evolving regulatory landscape of the financial industry and assist other functional areas as needed.

• Possession of a FINRA SIE or the ability to obtain it within the first 180 days of employment.
