This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• The primary objective of this role is to inspire and engage high school students regarding careers in skilled trades.
• You will receive training to set up this custom, double-expandable trailer and operate the various interactive stations and simulators onboard.
• Your work will involve traveling across Texas, mainly in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, typically from Monday to Friday.
• Weekly schedules may vary based on school district needs.
• Tour breaks align with school schedules, including Thanksgiving, Christmas, and summer vacations.
• As a licensed Class A CDL driver, you will transport the event Tractor/Trailer, referred to as the "Mobile Workshop," to each event or school site for daily setup.
• You will collaborate with a Brand Ambassador to execute daily events and prepare for the following day's activities.
• It is your responsibility to ensure that the event trailer and all interactive exhibits and simulators are clean, safe, operational, and ready for events.
• You will occasionally help convey the Be Pro Be Proud message (with the Brand Ambassador) to students during events and assist them with the interactive elements on the trailer (approximately 25-30 students per class, generally around 150 students per day).
• At the end of each event, you will dismantle the trailer and pack the exhibits.
• While tour stops are pre-scheduled, you will need to coordinate with your contact at each school/event site to ensure proper planning for the day's activities.
• Comprehensive training will be provided, covering the safe operation of the event trailer, usage of all onboard simulators and technology, talking points, ELDs, and more.
• Must demonstrate exceptional safety as an over-the-road driver.
• A strong safety mindset and eagerness to be part of, and promote, our safety culture is essential.
• Must be a Texas resident (preferably in the Dallas/Fort Worth area) and currently live in the state.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must.
• A passion for working with high school students is important (being "young at heart" is beneficial, regardless of age).
• Capability to engage and generate enthusiasm about careers in various skilled trades.
• A valid Class A CDL driver's license with a clean driving record and a valid DOT Medical Certificate is required.
• Preferred: Two years of Class A driving experience, particularly with 53' trailers.
• Must possess a Class A CDL issued by the state of Texas.
• A clean criminal and motor vehicle background is required (you will be working with young individuals on school grounds).
• Some schools and/or districts may require you to consent to additional background checks prior to your arrival.
• Experience in moving and setting up custom expandable event trailers is highly preferred.
• Must be comfortable with limited public speaking in front of small groups and engaging with students aged 13 to 18.
• Strong client service skills and a commitment to helping clients achieve their goals and positively impact the community are essential.
• Excellent and positive customer service skills (communicating kindly is important).
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and technology issues with support from SPEVCO’s experts.
• Self-management skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Proficiency with computers – capable of using a tablet (Android-based), email, MS Suite, various web applications, ELDs, etc.
