Class A CDL Instructor Trainer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Instruct students in Class A driving techniques through practical training in outdoor settings, utilizing both automatic and manual transmissions.

• Provide step-by-step guidance to students during pre-trip inspections, yard maneuvers, and on-road driving sessions.

• Equip students to successfully meet CDL testing standards on their initial attempt.

• Monitor student attendance and progress; offer additional assistance as required.

• Keep precise training records, evaluations, and necessary documentation.

• Promptly report all incidents and accidents to your lead instructor and corporate office.

• Collaborate closely with fellow instructors and the Lead Instructor to ensure a uniform student experience and adhere to our established curriculum.

• Contribute to maintaining a clean and presentable yard and facility.

• Step in for other instructors at nearby regional yards during emergencies as needed.

• Aid in the transfer of trucks to repair operations and neighboring yards for usage.

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent qualification.

• Valid Class A CDL with at least 24 months of documented Class A tractor-trailer driving experience.

• Experience with manual transmission — licensed to operate and capable of instructing on manual transmission.

• Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) with no violations.

• Must be able to pass a DOT physical examination and DOT-mandated drug and alcohol tests.

• Clearance from a background check is necessary.

• Excellent communication skills with the capability to mentor and coach students effectively.

• Basic computer proficiency for tracking student progress and managing schedules.

• Must reside in the state of application or have confirmed arrangements for relocation.

• Compliance with all state requirements for instructor licensing where applicable.

• 90-day probationary period upon hiring.
