Claims Team Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Act as the primary liaison for claimants and the adjuster team.

• Ensure that the team meets performance benchmarks and carry out level 1 mentoring reviews.

• Assess and authorize claims settlements to guarantee they are effective, efficient, and equitable.

• Assist adjusters with operational and technical inquiries.

• Reinforce adjustments in processes, claims, products, and systems with the adjuster team.

• Evaluate and authorize claims payments up to $25,000.

• Address and resolve customer complaints.

• Conduct monthly reviews of adjuster files to ensure compliance with standards.

• Identify training and mentoring requirements through file assessments, team meetings, and individual sessions.

• Provide direction and coaching to staff regarding claims coverage, conflict resolution, and decision-making processes.

• Keep up-to-date with training and industry developments.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in property claims insurance.

• At least 1 year of experience in a team lead role or mentoring junior adjusters/examiners.

• A level 2 license in BC and Alberta, or a full adjuster license in Ontario.

• High school diploma required.

• Preference for candidates with some post-secondary education.

• CIP designation or actively pursuing it is preferred.

• Minimum of 1 year of tenure with a recent employer.

• Exceptional analytical and decision-making capabilities.

• Strong communication skills for explaining decisions and providing guidance.

• Proficient in active listening and questioning techniques.

• Ability to manage conflict efficiently.

• Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.

• Capable of giving and receiving constructive feedback.
