Claims Specialist, Commercial Casualty

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +42 more states.

📋 Description

• Address all facets of 1st and 3rd party injury claims of low to moderate complexity for both personal lines and commercial claims.

• Efficiently manage claims to achieve appropriate resolutions with minimal oversight.

• Oversee liability injury claims, encompassing coverage, liability, and damage issues.

• Process Medical Payment, PIP, Uninsured Motorists, Under-insured Motorists, and ADB claims.

• Assist with first notice of loss calls and engage in the department phone queue as required.

• Make coverage determinations and carry out complex investigative tasks.

• Guide customers on suitable courses of action concerning coverage matters.

• Establish liability determinations based on collected evidence.

• Assess potential subrogation and issue initial subrogation notifications.

• Formulate negotiation strategies with insured parties, claimants, and representatives.

• Relay essential case information to supervisors, managers, or committees.

• Engage in employee resource groups and volunteer initiatives.

• Travel as necessary for divisional, team, and other in-person meetings.

• Address business requirements by dedicating extra time and assisting other teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in Casualty claims OR at least 2 years of claims experience, including over 1 year in Commercial claims.

• High School diploma / GED or at least 3 years of experience in a Casualty claims role within the P&C insurance sector.

• Must obtain and/or maintain multiple state-specific Adjuster’s Licenses within the first 90 days of employment or job transfer.

• Previous experience with Commercial policies is essential.

• A BA/BS in business, insurance, or a related field is preferred and would be a plus for the employer.

• Flexibility to work any shift during operating hours from 5:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. in your time zone, including evenings and/or weekends.

• Ability to complete training and perform duties in a remote environment.

• Exceptional interpersonal skills and strong proficiency in computer navigation.

• Capacity to handle multiple tasks concurrently.

• Excellent communication skills across diverse backgrounds.

• Must have authorization to work indefinitely in the United States.
