This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +35 more states.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of monthly and quarterly reporting on claims performance, focusing on efficiency metrics, expense components, and revenue sources including TPA fees, recoveries, subrogation, and salvage.

• Transform raw data into polished reports, ensuring timely delivery, accuracy, and collaboration with relevant stakeholders when data is lacking.

• Detect anomalies in the data and investigate them before they appear in the reports.

• Perform detailed analyses of expense components and revenue-generating activities to facilitate accurate and timely financial reporting.

• Recognize trends and patterns within claims data to support informed decision-making and process enhancements.

• Assist in the creation of financial models and tools aimed at improving claims analysis and forecasting capabilities.

• Implement continuous improvements for recurring deliverables, including automating manual processes to prevent errors from reoccurring.

• Collaborate closely with claims, accounting, actuarial, and data analytics teams to collect data on cycle times, processing efficiencies, and other key performance indicators (KPIs).

• Clearly present intricate information to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Remain updated on industry practices and regulatory shifts that influence reporting.

⛳️ Requirements

• 2 to 4 years of experience as a financial analyst, data analyst, or in a related role, with general analytical expertise. Insurance experience is not a necessity.

• Proven history of managing a recurring reporting process from beginning to end. You have successfully transformed a monthly or quarterly deliverable from raw data to a finalized report, met deadlines, and managed expectations. You can explain what you developed and the aspects you owned.

• Skilled in Excel and SQL, capable of constructing and manipulating tables, building models, and navigating data independently. Familiarity with data visualization tools is an advantage.

• Detail-oriented approach, as the reporting involves substantial information that is easy to misinterpret; accuracy is paramount.

• Demonstrated ownership and initiative, driving tasks forward proactively and taking accountability for the quality of the outcomes you produce.

• Strong problem-solving abilities, capable of addressing open-ended data or business inquiries and reasoning through them, working autonomously in ambiguous situations.

• Effective communication skills, able to convey findings succinctly in a manner that non-analysts can grasp, and collaborating well across cross-functional teams.

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, or another quantitative discipline. An advanced degree or professional certification is advantageous.

• Experience in the insurance sector with a focus on claims finance is beneficial. Strong analysts from banking or other financial institutions or industries are encouraged if they exhibit curiosity and a willingness to learn the domain.
