This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oklahoma.
• The Commercial Property Field Adjuster is tasked with investigating, assessing, and adjusting commercial property claims of minor to moderate severity.
• This position includes conducting on-site inspections of insured commercial properties, analyzing policy coverage, preparing precise damage estimates, and ensuring timely claims resolution in line with company guidelines, policy provisions, and applicable regulations.
• The adjuster applies independent judgment within assigned authority and communicates directly with insured parties, agents, public adjusters, and contractors, issuing reservation of rights letters and coverage disclaimers when necessary.
• Perform on-site evaluations of commercial properties to determine property damage related to covered losses (e.g., fire, wind, water, vandalism, and other commercial property risks).
• Capture damage evidence through photographs, measurements, diagrams, and written reports.
• Establish the cause of loss and verify the applicability of the policy.
• Recognize potential coverage concerns and exposures early in the claims process.
• Examine commercial property policies, endorsements, and declarations to ascertain coverage, limits, deductibles, and exclusions.
• Clearly communicate coverage determinations to insured individuals, public adjusters, and agents.
• Under supervision, prepare and issue reservation of rights letters and coverage disclaimers or denial letters in accordance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
• Generate detailed and accurate repair or replacement cost estimates utilizing approved estimating software and pricing databases.
• Assess contractor estimates and invoices for accuracy, scope, and reasonableness.
• Negotiate settlements within assigned authority while upholding fair claims practices.
• Process claim payments and settlement documentation in compliance with company procedures.
• A minimum of 3–5 years of experience in commercial property claims adjusting.
• Strong understanding of commercial property policy forms and endorsements.
• Familiarity with policy language and experience in interpreting minor to moderate coverage issues.
• Proven experience conducting field inspections of commercial properties.
• Proficient in estimating software (e.g., Xactimate or equivalent).
• A valid driver’s license with a clean motor vehicle record and the ability to travel within the assigned territory.
• Must maintain a current adjuster license in the designated home state (or be willing to obtain one within 60 days of hire) and have the ability to obtain additional non-residential adjuster licenses.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
• Demonstrated negotiation skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong customer service orientation with attention to detail.
• Proficient computer skills, including experience with Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel) as well as claims and imaging systems.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment with limited supervision in managing claims within reserve and settlement authority.
