Claims Examiner – Property

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Evaluate and manage intricate or technically challenging personal and commercial line property claims up to $100,000.

• Assess damages and prepare an estimate or acquire a contractor's estimate for review.

• Handle complex commercial and personal line property claims.

• Ensure that claim files are accurately documented and appropriately coded.

• Oversee the litigation process for litigated claims.

• Coordinate vendor management, including independent adjusters who assist in claim investigations.

• Report significant claims to excess carriers.

• Create and maintain action plans to adhere to state-required contact deadlines and advance files towards timely and suitable resolution.

• Identify and seek out subrogation opportunities.

• Secure and manage salvage disposal.

• Communicate claim actions and processes with insured parties, clients, and agents or brokers when necessary.

• Support the organization's quality initiatives.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

• Travel as needed.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred.

• Professional certification relevant to the line of business is preferred.

• Licenses as required.

• A minimum of five (5) years of claims management experience or a comparable combination of education and experience is required.

• Basic knowledge of construction principles.

• Experience with property estimating software.

• Comprehensive understanding of personal and commercial lines property policies, coverages, principles, and laws.

• Knowledge of the correct application of deductibles and sub-limits.

• Strong oral and written communication abilities, including presentation skills.

• Proficient in PC usage, including Microsoft Office applications.

• Excellent organizational skills.

• Strong interpersonal abilities.

• Good negotiation skills.

• Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.

• Capability to meet or surpass Performance Competencies.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently and meet deadlines.
