Claims Examiner – Auto

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Evaluate and manage intricate auto and commercial transportation claims.

• Assess coverage, conduct thorough investigations, establish liability, and gauge the extent of damages.

• Handle complex claims related to both auto commercial and personal lines, including bodily injury cases.

• Ensure that claim files are accurately documented and appropriately coded.

• Oversee the litigation process for claims that are in litigation.

• Coordinate vendor management, which includes working with independent adjusters to assist in claim investigations.

• Report significant claims to excess carriers.

• Create and uphold action plans to meet state-mandated contact deadlines and expedite file resolutions.

• Identify and seek out subrogation and risk transfer opportunities.

• Secure and manage the disposal of salvage.

• Communicate claim actions and processing updates to insured parties, clients, agents, or brokers.

• Support the quality programs of the organization.

• Travel as necessary.

• Carry out additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is preferred.

• Professional certification relevant to the line of business is preferred.

• Obtain and maintain the necessary State adjusting licenses for the role.

• A minimum of five (5) years of claims management experience or a comparable combination of education and experience is required.

• Comprehensive understanding of personal and commercial auto policies, coverages, principles, and regulations.

• Familiarity with medical terminology pertinent to claim evaluation and Medicare compliance.

• Knowledge of deductibles, sub-limits, SIRs, as well as carrier and large deductible programs.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including proficiency in presentations.

• Proficiency in PC applications, particularly Microsoft Office suite.

• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and negotiation abilities.
