Claims and Litigation Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversees the strategy and examination of intricate professional liability and medical malpractice claims from the moment they are reported until they reach a final resolution.

• Guides external defense attorneys on case action plans, ensuring that litigation follows the organization's standards and protocols.

• Sets accurate loss reserves and prepares National Claims Committee reports for significant high-exposure issues.

• Engages directly with plaintiff attorneys and represents the organization during mediations, trials, and depositions to achieve favorable settlements.

• Works in partnership with Risk Management to convert claim results into insights that enhance patient safety and minimize future liability.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent with 2 years of relevant experience, or an Associate's/Bachelor's degree with 1 year of experience, or 5 years of applicable job-specific experience required.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a leadership or management role is preferred.

• Directs strategy and investigation related to complex professional liability and medical malpractice claims.

• Guides external defense attorneys on the development of case action plans.

• Establishes loss reserves and generates National Claims Committee reports.

• Negotiates with plaintiff attorneys and represents the organization in mediations, trials, and depositions.

• Collaborates with Risk Management to enhance patient safety and mitigate future liability.
