This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Assist in civil and structural engineering tasks in partnership with site staff, subject matter experts, project teams, and external collaborators.
• Carry out condition evaluations of structures, foundations, and infrastructure systems; document results and suggest feasible remediation strategies.
• Conduct structural analyses and assessments for steel, concrete, masonry, and other systems within industrial settings.
• Create and assess designs for structural components and systems relevant to maintenance, upgrades, and small to mid-sized capital projects.
• Play a role in incident investigations and root cause analyses related to structural or infrastructure concerns.
• Support the creation of engineering documents, specifications, and scopes of work for repair and enhancement projects.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
• At least 7 years of civil/structural engineering experience, including a minimum of 3 years in the chemical, petrochemical, or similar industrial fields.
• Extensive knowledge of relevant codes and standards (AISC, ACI, ASCE, IBC, AASHTO, OSHA).
• Strong grounding in structural analysis, materials, and design principles.
• Willingness to travel approximately 25–30% to assist with site operations and conduct field evaluations, including climbing ladders.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or progress towards licensure is preferred.
• Proven experience in supporting field investigations, troubleshooting, and data collection in operational industrial facilities is preferred.
• Basic understanding of geotechnical/foundation engineering, site grading, drainage, hydrology, groundwater protection, environmental structures, underground piping, roadway/railway systems, loading/unloading facilities, etc. is preferred.
• Experience with specialized structures related to the chemical industry (process buildings, pipe racks, tank foundations, containment areas, trenches/sumps/dikes, sewers, waste treatment facilities, outfalls, diffusers, etc.) is preferred.
• Familiarity with relevant structural engineering software tools is preferred.
• Knowledge of safety practices, risk assessment, and resilient design principles in the chemical industry is preferred.
