This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Iowa, +4 more states.
• Prepares planning and design documents within the relevant engineering discipline.
• Coordinates the efforts of assistant and associate professionals as well as technical staff; may oversee lower-level personnel.
• Conducts process design calculations, develops cost estimates, and employs economic analyses for alternative comparisons.
• Defines project scope, formulates project schedules, completes project initiation documentation, and manages budget assessments along with progress reporting.
• Collaborates with other Olsson teams on projects; manages and coordinates design elements; directs team members on design tasks; maintains project documentation (correspondence, drawings, and files); liaises with clients; attends client meetings.
• Oversees the creation of technical reports, memos, and summaries to effectively convey findings to clients and internal teams.
• Acts as the project manager for various projects.
• Works closely with project managers and multidisciplinary teams to ensure that project deliverables are achieved on schedule, within budget, and align with client expectations.
• Aids in marketing and business development efforts and prepares project proposals.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in civil or environmental engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
• A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in civil or environmental engineering, particularly in civil or environmental design, including solid waste facilities, environmental remediation, and mining reclamation.
• Must hold a Professional Engineer license.
• Proficient in engineering tools, software, and methodologies.
• Strong competency in Civil 3D and AutoCAD.
