Civil Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• The role will focus on technical aspects of structural engineering and/or civil design for substations and power delivery facilities.

• Responsibilities in structural engineering encompass the development of design criteria, structure design, foundation design, and building design.

• Structure design mainly involves standard shape steel structures, specification of tubular steel structures, fire walls, and associated facilities.

• Foundation design primarily includes drilled pier, shallow/pad, and spread footing foundations.

• Civil engineering responsibilities consist of creating design criteria; grading and drainage design; access road design (including both paved and unpaved sections, vehicle maneuvering modeling, haul road analysis, etc.).

• Specification and design of retaining walls, perimeter walls, fences, and gates; water storm drawing design; as well as the ability to specify and interpret hydrology studies.

• A Bachelor of Science or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering is required.

• A minimum of 5 years of civil engineering experience is necessary.

• Experience with ACAD Civil 3D is preferred.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are essential.

• Strong organizational and planning capabilities are needed.

• Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.

• A commitment to quality and precision is crucial.

• Willingness to adhere to fast-paced project timelines is required.

• A P.Eng. license is mandatory.
