This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico.
• Become a part of AECOM's Transportation Department and engage in a variety of transportation projects.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams to create engineering solutions from initial concepts through to detailed design and construction.
• Design and evaluate stormwater management systems for site development initiatives.
• Size and design stormwater detention and retention basins.
• Prepare drainage calculations and comprehensive reports.
• Review stormwater regulations at the municipal, county, and state levels.
• Work alongside site civil designers to integrate drainage requirements into overall site layouts.
• Execute specific and limited aspects of larger assignments with moderate supervision.
• Collect and correlate fundamental engineering data utilizing established procedures.
• Complete detailed or routine engineering tasks that involve calculations and relatively straightforward tests.
• Suggest solutions to new challenges and pinpoint discrepancies in results.
• Mentor entry-level engineers.
• Create models and plan sheets using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Design roadways or general site developments.
• Prepare quantity takeoffs and cost estimates.
• Develop technical specifications for contractors.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering coupled with 2 years of pertinent civil engineering experience or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
• EIT certification or the ability to acquire it within 12 months of the hire date.
• United States citizenship is mandatory.
• A valid US Driver's License is required for visiting project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices.
• Must successfully pass a Motor Vehicle Records review as a condition of employment.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Experience in designing roadways or general site development.
• Experience in preparing quantity takeoffs and cost estimates.
• Experience in drafting technical specifications for contractors.
