This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in China.
• Overseeing translation and copy-editing responsibilities, guaranteeing high-quality linguistic outputs for designated projects or accounts.
• Collaborating with freelancers and agencies.
• Sustaining language resources.
• Addressing terminology inquiries.
• Working with clients and internal teams to improve workflow efficiency.
• Executing copy-edit tasks on designated projects or accounts.
• Carrying out on-demand translation assignments.
• Providing lead support on designated projects or accounts.
• Managing and upholding language materials (including glossaries, Style Guides, and work instructions) to meet quality standards and remain current as per account or project requirements.
• Handling project-related inquiries.
• Fostering positive interactions among team members and resolving questions regarding terminology and language issues.
• Evaluating and qualifying new freelancers and vendors as needed.
• Developing and training internal linguists and external partners in accordance with the needs of the accounts and Welocalize.
• Engaging with clients on linguistic concerns as necessary.
• Contributing to the creation of new and enhanced working processes.
• Meeting or surpassing KPIs related to productivity, on-time delivery, and quality.
• Attaining the objectives established by the team manager.
• Bachelor’s degree in Translation/Applied Languages/Linguistic Studies or a comparable mix of education and experience (Bachelor's degree in other disciplines plus 2 years of full-time experience in translation; OR 5 years of full-time professional experience in translation).
• Native-level proficiency in Chinese.
• Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, across various registers.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in translation/localization/editing or content writing.
• At least 2 years of review experience.
• In-depth understanding of the localization process.
• Proficient user of standard software, including Windows and Office applications.
• Familiarity with standard CAT tools, such as XTM, SDL Studio, and issue tracking/query management tools like JIRA.
• Quick learner of new localization tools and applications.
• Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Strong knowledge of terminology across two or more subject areas.
• Capability to work under tight deadlines.
• Ability to provide clear, concise, and constructive feedback.
• Skill in effectively presenting information and addressing questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and linguists.
• Proficiency in solving practical problems and managing a variety of concrete variables in situations with limited standardization, alongside the ability to interpret various instructions given in written, oral, diagram, or schedule formats.
• Willingness and ability to train/teach others and transfer knowledge.
• Experience in positively communicating with customers at multiple levels.
