
Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist – Part Time

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Join the virtual behavioral health team to deliver patient services utilizing evidence-based medicine.
• Evaluate and diagnose mental and behavioral health disorders for pediatric, adolescent, and young adult patients; develop differential diagnoses.
• Exhibit sound clinical judgment in assessments and treatment, adhering to established clinical care protocols.
• Collaborate and communicate with the therapist team and medical leadership regarding patient treatment strategies.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests when necessary.
• Perform patient history assessments and initial evaluations for incoming patients.
• Prescribe medications as part of the treatment plan as permitted by licensure.
• Manage both medication and counseling for patients.
• Inform patients and parents about medication side effects, risks and benefits, proper usage of new medications, and realistic expectations for medication outcomes.
• Create and adjust patient treatment plans based on clinical evaluations and re-assessments using screening tools.
• Accurately document each patient visit in the electronic medical record, including subjective and objective data, assessments, treatment plans, and any other necessary documentation.
• Relay the patient’s care plan to the behavioral health team and the patient’s primary care physician.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to educate patients about their medical treatment.
• Continuously enhance clinical knowledge and skills through consultations, formal and informal education, and literature reviews for personal growth as well as for the healthcare team’s benefit.
• Make appropriate referrals when necessary.
• Supervise psychiatric nurse practitioners.
• MD/DO with the necessary licensing in states where prescriptions are issued.
• Previous experience in psychopharmacology management.
• Board eligible or board certified in child and adolescent psychiatry.
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
• Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
• Capability to assess risk factors for self-harm or harm to others.
• Proven commitment to ethical and behavioral standards of conduct.
• Strong collaborative skills with a team-oriented approach.
• Experience specifically working with children and adolescents.
• Valid DEA License in states where prescriptions are issued.
• Valid Medical License in states where prescriptions are issued.
• Valid Medicaid number in New York.
• Opportunities available for Per Diem (12-15 hours/week) and Part Time (minimum of 20 hours/week) positions.
• Part Time positions (20 hours+) are eligible for benefits!
