This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +2 more states.
• Align product engineering efforts with product development, intellectual property, and licensing strategies.
• Act as the principal technical architect for proprietary consumer audio and hearables technologies.
• Integrate patented algorithms, hardware/software architectures, and software stacks into modular Reference Designs or IP blocks.
• Establish technical parameters for licensing portfolios, which include IP blocks, SDKs, and reference hardware.
• Supervise the optimization and integration of audio code libraries across wireless audio System on Chip (SoC) and Digital Signal Processing (DSP) platforms.
• Manage comprehensive Technical Data Packages that encompass reference designs, tuning tools, SDKs, APIs, reference models, acoustic guidelines, DSP libraries, and related documentation.
• Lead the creation of software tools for developers and graphical user interface (GUI)-based tuning utilities.
• Offer technical support, reference tuning, and architectural assessments for licensees and Original Design Manufacturers (ODMs).
• Collaborate with Legal and IP teams on innovations that can be patented and ensure compliance validation for licensees.
• Guide audio, DSP, firmware, and hardware engineers towards scalable licensing platforms.
• Over 12 years of experience in consumer audio, acoustics, or hearables product development.
• A minimum of 4 years in managing software intellectual property delivery, technical transfers, or external licensing integrations.
• Profound knowledge in real-time audio processing software.
• Proficiency in fixed-point math optimization.
• Experience with assembly-level vectorization, including NEON or Tensilica instruction extensions.
• Expertise in low-latency scheduling practices.
• Specialized knowledge in ANC/biquad design, Spatial Audio/HRTF, AEC, Wind Noise Reduction, and machine learning-based Voice Pickup.
• Familiarity with Bluetooth LE Audio/Auracast, microphone arrays/beamforming, and codecs such as LC3, LDAC, and aptX.
• Competency in programming languages including C/C++, Python, and understanding of RTOS, Bluetooth LE Audio pipelines, Auracast, and codecs like LC3, AAC, and LDAC.
• Insight into microphone array geometries, transducer frequency responses, and ADC/DAC latency paths.
• Capability to present intricate technical concepts to business stakeholders, IP attorneys, and external executive teams.
• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Acoustical Engineering, or a related technical field.
