This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Oversee the operational framework of the External Relations organization, including planning cycles, leadership meetings, quarterly business reviews, and performance monitoring against OKRs and key risks.
• Develop and continuously enhance organizational systems and processes for setting goals, making decisions, tracking data, and ensuring accountability.
• Collaborate with the analytics team to provide the External Relations team with accurate and timely data, analyze insights from performance dashboards, and guide strategic prioritization while ensuring data integrity.
• Assist in organizational design, establish hiring priorities, and support the onboarding process for new members of the External Relations team.
• Foster cross-team culture and engagement by organizing and facilitating leadership offsites, all-hands meetings for External Relations, and internal communications that enhance cohesion and transparency.
• Direct and manage high-impact projects that contribute to Khan Academy’s growth and revenue objectives.
• Offer analytical and strategic support to External Relations Leadership in assessing business performance and identifying new opportunities.
• Develop revenue and impact models to inform strategic discussions and planning.
• Convert ambiguity into structured frameworks by defining success metrics, clarifying ownership, and ensuring progress against strategic priorities.
• Act as a reliable thought partner for the Chief External Relations Officer in preparation for board meetings, external engagements, and significant presentations.
• Serve as a connective resource between teams to clarify shared goals, manage dependencies, and coordinate execution.
• Collaborate with Analytics to establish business rules, success metrics, and performance frameworks that guide decision-making.
• Work closely with Product, Content, and Finance teams to align on common goals, co-develop offerings, and ensure that go-to-market strategies meet the needs of learners, teachers, parents, and administrators.
• Partner with other Strategy & Operations leaders to synchronize on central processes, such as OKR planning, Quarterly Business Reviews, and ad hoc projects.
• A minimum of 7 years of professional experience, including at least 5 years in a strategic, operational, or Chief of Staff-type role within a mission-driven, fast-paced organization.
• Demonstrated success in project management and organizational operations, with a proven track record of leading complex, cross-functional initiatives to completion.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with experience in utilizing data to inform strategic decisions, measure outcomes, and construct analytical models.
• Familiarity with K-12 education go-to-market strategies or B2B go-to-market roles.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including experience in preparing executive-level materials such as board presentations, OKR reports, or strategy memos.
• Proven ability to cultivate trustworthy relationships across teams and levels, acting as a connector, advisor, and thought partner to senior leaders.
• High level of organization, attention to detail, and follow-through; capable of managing multiple work streams and deadlines simultaneously.
• Strong commitment to Khan Academy’s mission of providing a free, world-class education for anyone, anywhere, along with an understanding of the public education ecosystem (districts, philanthropy, and partnerships).
• Experience in consulting, investment banking, or business operations is advantageous.
