This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Act as the operational representative for the CEO, driving the implementation of strategic priorities throughout the organization and ensuring accountability at all levels.
β’ Directly oversee a team of directors and functional leaders across corporate operations, program management, marketing, and engineering support.
β’ Manage execution of government programs, including contract administration, tracking deliverables, and maintaining customer relationships across AURAβs defense contract portfolio.
β’ Take charge of compliance readiness, coordinating efforts for CMMC Level 2 certification, DFARS obligations, and other relevant security and regulatory requirements.
β’ Oversee IT and managed service provider vendor relationships to ensure AURA's technology infrastructure aligns with the security and operational standards expected by our government and commercial clients.
β’ Regularly maintain and update financial forecasts, cash flow models, and operational metrics β providing the CEO with a clear understanding of the company's performance.
β’ Assist in the preparation of strategic transactions related to potential technology spinoffs, licensing opportunities, or other initiatives at the portfolio level β including organizing data rooms, coordinating due diligence, and ensuring cross-functional readiness.
β’ Establish the operational tempo of the business β conducting leadership meetings, tracking goals, reporting rhythms, and facilitating cross-functional collaboration.
β’ Identify and address organizational gaps and inefficiencies β strategically implementing structure, function, and accountability in key areas to enhance operational maturity and efficiency.
β’ Be prepared to step into any function as necessary.
β’ Over 10 years of professional experience, with a significant portion dedicated to or directly supporting the U.S. federal government (DoD experience is highly preferred).
β’ Comprehensive understanding of federal procurement and contracting processes, along with insights into how the government assesses and manages contractor relationships.
β’ Proven experience in team management and holding individuals accountable for outcomes β demonstrating leadership of people, not merely projects.
β’ Strong financial expertise β comfortable managing budgets, cash flow forecasts, and translating financial data into operational decisions.
β’ Familiarity with government compliance frameworks (CMMC, DFARS, NIST 800-171) or a demonstrated ability to quickly learn complex regulatory environments.
β’ Outstanding organizational abilities and adeptness at managing multiple competing priorities without oversight.
β’ Strong judgment in ambiguous situations β knowing when to act independently and when to escalate issues.
