• Manage the execution of government programs, including contract administration, tracking deliverables, and maintaining customer relationships across AURA’s portfolio of defense contracts.

• Take charge of compliance readiness, coordinating efforts for CMMC Level 2 certification, meeting DFARS obligations, and adhering to related security and regulatory requirements.

• Handle IT and Managed Service Provider vendor relationships, ensuring AURA’s technology infrastructure meets the security and operational standards expected by our government and commercial clients.

• Keep financial projections, cash flow models, and operational metrics up to date, providing the CEO with clear insights into the business's health.

• Assist in preparing for strategic transactions related to potential technology spinoffs, licensing opportunities, or other initiatives at the portfolio level, including organizing data rooms and coordinating due diligence.

• Establish the business's operational rhythm, including leadership meetings, goal tracking, reporting schedules, and cross-functional coordination.

• Identify organizational gaps and inefficiencies, taking decisive action to strategically create and integrate structure, function, and accountability into critical business areas to enhance operational maturity and efficiency.

• Be prepared to step into any functional area as necessary. In a company of our size, the Chief of Staff is the individual who recognizes a problem and takes ownership, irrespective of the department it pertains to.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of professional experience, with a significant portion spent in or directly supporting the U.S. federal government (DoD experience is highly preferred).

• Comprehensive understanding of federal procurement and contracting processes, as well as insights into how the government assesses and manages contractor relationships.

• Proven experience in managing teams and holding individuals accountable for outcomes — you have led people, not merely projects.

• Strong financial acumen — comfortable with budgets, cash flow projections, and translating financial data into operational decisions.

• Outstanding organizational skills and the capability to manage multiple competing priorities without oversight.

• Prudent judgment in ambiguous situations — you understand when to act independently and when to escalate matters.

• U.S. Citizenship is required.
