This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the development of AfroTech programs from initial concept to full execution, including defining scope, timelines, stakeholders, budgets, and launch strategies.
• Take responsibility for the go-to-market strategy for each program and event, covering positioning, offerings, channel mix, and launch schedules, from announcement through post-event follow-up.
• Lead, manage, and nurture a team of employees and contractors across various areas such as content and creative operations, event and membership marketing, community engagement, and social media distribution.
• Maintain the master calendar for all Blavity Inc. live and virtual events, ensuring all workstreams are aligned with it.
• Serve as the point of contact across teams, ensuring that content, sponsorship, email growth, community, and production efforts are synchronized with key dates.
• Drive registration, ticket sales, and Insider Member conversions for events like the AfroTech Conference, Health Stack, and other pipeline events.
• Collaborate with leadership to develop ticketing and offer strategies, including pricing tiers and timed urgency windows.
• Direct teams to ensure effective social distribution and awareness content across owned channels, such as email, AfroTech.com, AfroTech Culture, AfroTech University, creator brand content, and Black Tech Green Money.
• Provide external partners, associations, and coalition members with necessary assets, messaging, and clear calls to action.
• Work with teams to communicate data on program and event performance after each launch, including metrics on plan delivery, registrations, ticket sales, Insider conversions, and attendance.
• Minimum of [6+ years] experience in go-to-market strategies, program management, growth or event marketing, business operations, or in a chief of staff role, with direct responsibility for programs that required on-time launches.
• Proven go-to-market experience in taking a product, program, or event from planning stages to launch, including aspects like positioning, offerings, and channel strategies.
• At least [3+ years] of experience managing and developing teams, including a mix of employees and contractors.
• A generalist background, with a track record of successfully owning responsibilities beyond the defined job description.
• Experience managing multiple programs or brands simultaneously without compromising on quality.
• Working proficiency in marketing performance to effectively direct campaigns, analyze metrics, and identify areas needing improvement.
• A consistent practice of measuring and reporting on personal work outcomes.
• Travel to events will be required.
