This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.
• Oversee all facets of the development, execution, and integration of a complex multi-country project focused on child development, care, and protection.
• Provide strategic direction and ensure alignment, coordination, and accountability among countries, technical teams, and partners.
• Act as the main point of contact for donors as well as public, private, and non-government stakeholders.
• Guarantee timely, high-quality outcomes, milestone achievement, sustainability, and adherence to donor expectations.
• Monitor and verify deliverables based on milestones and fulfill donor reporting requirements.
• Lead senior programming and operations staff, manage team dynamics, coach and mentor personnel, and supervise senior staff recruitment.
• Manage and mitigate security and program risks while maintaining staff safety and security protocols.
• Oversee safeguarding and child protection standards throughout activities, partnerships, and countries.
• Ensure compliance with donor and CRS policies, including financial tracking, partner budgets, expenditures, and donor reporting.
• Represent CRS programming on an international scale, publish results, deliver presentations, and supervise the creation of communication materials.
• Manage relationships with consortium partners and coordinate the activities of consortium members.
• Encourage cross-country learning, knowledge management, evidence-based decision-making, and adaptive management.
• Identify performance gaps and oversee training and technical assistance initiatives.
• Provide strategic oversight for consortium partners, sub-awardees, and vendors.
• Bachelor’s degree in international development, International Relations, or a related technical field.
• At least 8 years of relevant management and technical experience.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience managing donor funds, including multi-country grants.
• Strong knowledge and experience in budget management.
• At least 5 years of experience in staff management.
• Experience in coaching and mentoring senior program staff.
• Proven track record in managing complex, high-value, multi-activity projects with intricate logistics.
• Established sector leadership evidenced by peer-reviewed publications, conference presentations, or similar achievements.
• Proficient in MS Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio.
• Familiarity with web conferencing applications and information and budget management systems.
• Strong strategic, analytical, systems-thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
• Skills in relationship management, team leadership, coaching, mentoring, communication, and presentation.
• Fluency in English is required; fluency in Spanish or French is a plus.
• Must be willing and able to travel up to 35%.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the location where the position is based.
• Pre-employment medical clearance is required for positions that require residence or frequent travel outside the home country.
