This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +1 more state.
• Lead the design, industrialization, and enhancement of Manufacturing Systems.
• Act as the primary customer-facing representative for the Manufacturing Engineering (ME) function.
• Concentrate on executing non-recurring engineering projects, which include New Product Introductions (NPI), Transfers of Work (ToW), Major Modifications (Mods), Technology Insertions, and addressing quality and delivery issues related to manufacturing processes.
• Direct deployed ME resources to implement manufacturing systems that meet specified requirements.
• Ensure compliance with Zero Defect Manufacturing (ZDM) standards.
• Validate and endorse the proposed definition of the Manufacturing System along with its corresponding performance targets.
• Assess output for technical risks and relay these to the Programme.
• Own the cost estimation for Non-Recurring Engineering associated with ME technical content delivery.
• Provide a Manufacturing System that meets all agreed-upon stakeholder requirements.
• Govern and manage a portfolio of Manufacturing Systems.
• Responsible for the execution of non-recurring ME activities within a specific programme or project.
• Drive technical leadership and guidance utilizing project management fundamentals.
• Foster positive and effective working relationships with both internal and external customers.
• Possess technical expertise in Manufacturing Engineering, holding a professional qualification (university degree) in engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical) or, alternatively, 8 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role.
• Have a minimum of 8 years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering, familiar with quality system models such as ISO9000 or AS9100.
• Experience in developing manufacturing systems for New Product Introductions (NPI) with a focus on industrialization through a lifecycle gate process.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities to organize and propel technical projects towards achieving business objectives, preferably within complex multi-site environments.
• Experience in identifying and implementing industrial productivity improvements while monitoring their effectiveness through established metrics.
• Capability to lead and influence individuals, build trust, and create effective working relationships within a global organization and with external customer stakeholders.
• Proficiency in the English language, both written and spoken.
• Proven track record of leading change in a Manufacturing System, demonstrating significant improvements in cost, quality, or throughput.
• Extensive, expert knowledge and hands-on experience in one or more manufacturing process areas (e.g., machining, forming, welding, composites, assembly, metrology).
• Familiarity with digital manufacturing systems (PLM, MES, ERP).
• Hold a Project/Programme Management Professional Qualification.
• Experience with the AS9145 APQP process or equivalent.
• Six Sigma Certification.
