This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Deliver high-level financial guidance to Speer’s leadership team, including strategic recommendations on growth planning, profitability, pricing strategies, investment choices, resource allocation, and long-term financial viability.
• Direct the budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management to enable Speer to foresee financial requirements, optimize resource management, and facilitate informed business decisions.
• Prepare and evaluate financial statements, dashboards, and key performance metrics that offer clear insights into company performance, project profitability, margins, revenue, expenditures, and cash flow position.
• Supervise and enhance finance-related processes, encompassing invoicing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, project financial tracking, expense management, payroll coordination, and internal reporting procedures.
• Assist in developing pricing strategies, conducting margin analysis, project budgeting, and profitability assessments for client engagements, proposals, retainers, and long-term partnerships.
• Ensure the implementation of appropriate financial controls, compliance measures, tax coordination, insurance evaluations, and risk management practices as the company expands.
• Serve as a trusted financial advisor to the executive team, aiding in strategic planning, board or investor reporting as required, and significant business decisions.
• Contribute to the ongoing advancement of Speer’s finance function by refining systems, reporting frameworks, internal controls, and operational processes as the company grows.
• Extensive senior finance leadership experience, ideally in roles such as CFO, VP of Finance, Director of Finance, Controller, or another equivalent senior finance position.
• Proven experience with expanding companies, particularly in sectors such as technology, software development, consulting, digital services, or professional services.
• Deep understanding of budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, financial reporting, and profitability analysis.
• Experience with project-based or service-oriented revenue models.
• Capability to convert financial data into clear, actionable recommendations for leadership.
• Strong grasp of accounting principles, tax coordination, financial controls, and business compliance standards.
• Background in enhancing financial systems, processes, reporting frameworks, and internal controls.
• Exceptional communication, analytical, leadership, and advisory abilities.
• CPA designation or equivalent financial leadership experience is highly preferred.
