Chief Financial Officer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Switzerland, +2 more countries.

📋 Description

• Serve as a vital co-pilot to the management team and engage in board meetings from the outset.

• Take ownership of the equity narrative, encompassing storytelling, metrics, data room management, and readiness for due diligence.

• Spearhead future financing initiatives, strategic alternatives, and capital markets strategies in collaboration with founders and the board.

• Manage the trajectory towards sustainable positive cash flows through driver-based planning and disciplined capital allocation.

• Establish an AI-first finance and operations function, prioritizing automation before hiring, and actively working within models and tools.

• Propel commercial intelligence for go-to-market strategies and product investment decisions.

• Influence decisions related to pricing, packaging, NRR economics, and unit economics.

• Take charge of the multi-entity European group structure, ensuring transfer pricing, tax efficiency, and compliance.

• Sustain a clean, well-modeled capitalization table and VSOP.

• Provide investor-grade accounting and SaaS revenue recognition in accordance with local GAAP.

• Oversee statutory audits and potential future transitions to relevant GAAP.

• Manage board and investor communications, representing deskbird to current and prospective investors.

• Supervise treasury functions, foreign exchange, runway discipline, scenario planning, audit preparedness, legal, procurement, and insurance.

⛳️ Requirements

• A career shaped by transactions, preferably in private equity, mergers and acquisitions, or investment banking, followed by operational experience in a scaling enterprise.

• Exceptional candidates from transaction advisory roles (e.g., Big4) or leading strategy consulting firms with significant deal exposure will also be considered.

• Profound understanding of finance processes and B2B SaaS mechanics, including ARR/NRR, cohort economics, CAC payback, Rule of 40, and the ARR-to-cash bridge.

• Experience in a scale and complexity surpassing €10M ARR and approximately 100+ employees.

• Preferably, experience with companies exceeding €25M ARR.

• Exposure to fundraising and/or liquidity events, ideally involving efficient and profitable growth.

• A hands-on, builder-oriented mindset focused on maximizing enterprise value created per team member.

• A genuine enthusiasm for AI-native methodologies and daily use of AI tools.

• Based in or open to working from Zurich, Berlin, Munich, or London; remote work within Europe is possible for an exceptional candidate.

• Full working proficiency in English is required.

• Proficiency in German is strongly preferred.

• Experience in owning or closely partnering with People & Culture is a plus.

• Familiarity with multi-entity European operations, Swiss/EU accounting, VAT, transfer pricing, and cross-border payroll is advantageous.

• Experience in venture debt, structured financing, or buy-side M&A is a plus.
