This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take charge of the technical roadmap for xEV propulsion controls, embedded software, calibration development, and E/E systems architecture.
• Spearhead cross-functional development of E/E architecture, traction inverter controls, electric motor control, battery management integration, drivability, charging, and thermal management strategies.
• Propel software-defined vehicle initiatives, diagnostics, planned change update readiness, and scalable software architectures.
• Establish system requirements, control strategies, software architecture, and interface specifications.
• Oversee xEV E/E software and controls team efforts across Systems Engineering, Calibration, Integration, Validation, and platform teams.
• Deliver software and ECUs through design reviews, configuration management, supplier collaboration, quality initiatives, and cost improvement plans.
• Guide technical decisions regarding VCU, BMS, EDU, DCDC converter, onboard charger, drivability, charging systems, and thermal management.
• Integrate xEV propulsion controls with chassis, braking, ADAS, body electronics, and telematics.
• Represent xEV Powertrain Controls and Software in business and product strategy discussions.
• Present and advocate for technical engineering decisions to peers, leadership, and external customers.
• Mentor and develop junior xEV engineers.
• Assist with department budgets, operating cost forecasts, and project budget requests.
• Identify innovative solutions to complex technical challenges.
• Interface with customers, suppliers, internal and external stakeholders, and outside resources.
• Research and propose new technologies to enhance products.
• Create and maintain project documentation while conducting engineering analysis for part, component, and material selection.
• Provide technical assistance for prototype, pilot, and production support.
• Prepare technical proposals, quotations, reports, and presentations.
• Accredited Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
• A minimum of ten (10) years of related experience.
• Experience in designing, developing, validating, and launching light-duty automotive or heavy truck on-road xEV vehicles.
• Cross-functional experience within the automotive product lifecycle, including vehicle-level validation, launch, and field support.
• Expertise in automotive E/E architecture with ECU hardware, sensors, actuators, software, calibration, CAN, UDS, and configuration management.
• Familiarity with Canalyzer, ETAS INCA, Vector Canape, Atlassian Jira, and Jama.
• Previous experience leading engineering teams.
• Knowledge of Functional Safety, Cybersecurity, and Systems Engineering.
