
Chapter Relations Manager – West/West-Central U.S.

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +10 more states.
• Act as the reliable and primary relationship manager for volunteer chapter leaders in your region, offering timely guidance, proactive follow-ups, and a consistent CFMA presence.
• Take ownership of the entire strategic planning cycle for designated chapters — preparing session materials, facilitating planning discussions with volunteer boards, and delivering the finalized documented strategic plan.
• Perform regular check-ins with chapter leaders to assess progress, tackle challenges, and ensure each chapter’s plan remains active and actionable.
• Collaborate with the Chapter Engagement Program Manager to evaluate chapter health metrics, pinpoint support needs, and align strategies accordingly.
• Support and work alongside the Chapter Resource Committee, amplifying chapter concerns in national discussions and bringing national resources to local chapters.
• Represent CFMA through presentations, meetings, training sessions, and events throughout the region.
• Partner with the Director of Chapter Engagement and national staff to promote shared departmental and organizational objectives.
• At least 4 years of experience in an association or membership organization.
• A relationship-focused approach: proven success in building trust with volunteer leaders, members, or organizational partners while navigating diverse personalities and leadership dynamics.
• Comfort in leading meetings and presenting to groups, including senior-level professionals — or a genuine willingness to develop this skill with CFMA’s framework and support.
• The capacity to convert data, feedback, and observations into actionable and measurable plans.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and professionalism in managing multiple chapter relationships simultaneously.
• Readiness and capability to travel approximately 50% within the West / West Central region.
• Experience in member engagement, retention, or volunteer management within an association setting is highly advantageous.
• Background in supporting volunteer committees or leadership groups within an association or membership organization.
• Familiarity with association platforms such as Monday.com, ACGI, or Glue Up (or similar CRM/AMS systems).
• Proficiency in working with data, reporting, and engagement metrics, along with strong Excel skills.
• Competence in Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Excel, Word, OneNote, and PowerPoint.
