This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Developing and overseeing the marketing strategy for the US commercial channel, including a multi-year vision, execution for the fiscal year, and managing the complexities in between.
• Formulating WD-40’s strategy for mid-market commercial accounts, an area where we currently lack a unified approach — this represents an opportunity for growth.
• Connecting sell-in and pull-through: successfully establishing product availability with distributors while simultaneously fostering end-user demand to enhance sell-through and velocity.
• Directing SKU assortment, packaging requirements, and product lineup decisions tailored to your channels.
• Crafting account-specific activation plans in collaboration with brand, digital, and sales teams, while advocating internally for the necessary investment to implement them.
• Serving as a credible commercial representative for WD-40 at trade shows, distributor meetings, and sales team calls.
• Fostering internal support — as the organization enhances its commercial acumen, you will be both teaching and executing.
• Overseeing partnership and agency management for channel programs, activations, and content development — from initial brief through execution and performance assessment.
• A minimum of 7 years in channel marketing or distributor marketing, with significant experience in industrial and/or automotive sectors.
• Comprehensive understanding of product movement through a B2B distribution channel — sell-in and pull-through are concepts you have effectively managed concurrently, even under pressure.
• Proven ability to influence stakeholders who may not have sought your input — including sales teams, brand managers, and senior leadership — while maintaining positive relationships.
• Comfort in creating plans with incomplete data and adapting them as circumstances evolve.
• Strong financial expertise — capable of developing a business case, defending a budget, and engaging in P&L discussions.
• Willingness to take on any task that contributes to the business, regardless of its perceived status.
• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or a related field; an MBA is preferred, but a strong track record is the most critical factor.
• A strong values-driven organization that recognizes and rewards contributions.
• A culture focused on learning, where a majority of team members believe they can meet their career goals.
• Over 94% employee engagement based on the January 2025 global employee survey results.
• 99% of our employees express that they “love to tell people that they work for WD-40 Company!”
