Certified Pharmacy Technician – Refill & Medication Adherence

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Manage incoming pharmacy calls and initiate outbound refill calls for patients.

• Assist patients through the entire medication refill procedure.

• Coordinate prescription refills, including data entry and adjudication of pharmacy claims.

• Conduct checks on prescription statuses and address any adjudication problems.

• Act as a point of communication among patients, pharmacists, clinicians, payors, and internal teams.

• Clarify prescription orders with pharmacists and/or clinicians as necessary.

• Recognize medications that need special handling (e.g., refrigerated or hazardous items).

• Diligently manage and update patient and prescription information across various systems.

• Detect trends, resolve persistent issues, and suggest process enhancements.

• Uphold strict confidentiality regarding sensitive patient and healthcare information.

• Engage in training, professional growth, and quality improvement initiatives.

• Maintain flexible scheduling to accommodate health system partner requirements (8-hour shifts, Monday to Friday between 7 am and 7 pm EST, and weekends as necessary).


⛳️ Requirements

• National certification (CPhT) is mandatory.

• State-registered Pharmacy Technician (can be obtained with national certification).

• 1–3 years of experience as a pharmacy technician is preferred.

• Experience in refilling management.

• Knowledge of pharmacy claim adjudication.

• Familiarity with specialty pharmacy practices.

• Collaboration with clinical care teams.

• Experience in remote or call-center pharmacy settings is a plus.

• A high school diploma or GED is required.

• Outstanding phone skills and patient communication abilities.

• Comfortable with engaging patients on outbound calls.

• Strong teamwork skills with clinicians, payors, and pharmacy teams.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.

• Quick to adapt to new systems and workflows.

• Excellent organizational skills, multitasking abilities, and attention to detail.
