Certified Pharmacy Technician – Data Support

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Deliver outstanding customer service in a phone-centric environment

• Accurately input large volumes of data and manage prescription information

• Handle prescription authorizations, clarifications, and transfers utilizing pharmaceutical knowledge

• Conduct claim adjudication and auditing, including prior authorizations, billing, and eligibility verifications

• Make outbound calls to patients

• Navigate case queues to address patient care concerns

• Act as a liaison between clinical pharmacists and other healthcare professionals

• Collaborate with technicians and pharmacists to onboard new patients

• Uphold the confidentiality of patient records

• Retrieve and confirm prescription information through calls to physicians

• Execute welcome calls to newly onboarded patients

• Create, maintain, and update medication profiles

• Provide backup assistance during periods of high patient call volume

• Respond to patient inquiries via phone

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or GED

• Certification from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or the National Health Association (NHA), with a current certificate

• Must hold a pharmacy technician registration with the State Board of Pharmacy

• Must be at least 18 years old

• Previous experience in a pharmacy environment

• Capability to work in a phone-focused setting

• Proficiency in using computer systems, technology, and various software programs for medication authorizations, clarifications, and transfers

• Excellent customer service skills while interacting with doctors' offices, pharmacists, and patients over the phone

• Comprehensive drug knowledge

• Understanding of pharmacy billing practices

• Familiarity with processes for prescriptions, clarifications, and transfers

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Excellent prioritization and organizational abilities

• Capacity to maintain confidentiality

• Critical thinking skills with the ability to document relevant details in compliance with state and federal regulations

• Capability to perform tasks requiring sitting at a desk for 90% of the time
