Certified Pharmacy Technician – Data Support

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Deliver outstanding customer service in a telephone-based setting

• Accurately enter high volumes of data and process prescription information

• Manage prescription authorizations, clarifications, and transfers utilizing drug knowledge

• Conduct claim adjudication and auditing, which includes prior authorizations, billing, and eligibility checks

• Make outbound calls to patients

• Address patient-care concerns from existing case queues

• Act as a liaison between clinical pharmacists and other healthcare professionals

• Collaborate with technicians and pharmacists to onboard new patients

• Safeguard confidential patient records

• Retrieve and confirm prescription information through communication with doctors

• Initiate welcome calls to newly onboarded patients

• Create, maintain, and update patient medication profiles

• Provide backup assistance during peak patient call volumes

• Address patient inquiries over the phone

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or GED

• Current certification with the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or the National Health Association (NHA)

• Current pharmacy technician registration with the State Board of Pharmacy

• Must be at least 18 years old

• Previous experience in a pharmacy environment

• Ability to work in an office-based or remote setting, spending 90% of the time seated at a desk

• Comfortable in a phone-based work environment

• Capable of working independently

• Proficient in using computer hardware, technology, and various software applications

• Exceptional phone-based customer service skills

• Comprehensive knowledge of drugs

• Familiarity with pharmacy billing processes

• Understanding of prescription intake, clarifications, and transfers

• Strong organizational and prioritization skills

• Ability to maintain confidentiality

• Critical thinking skills and the ability to document relevant details in compliance with state and federal regulations
