This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Conduct assessments of workplace exposure to chemical, physical, biological, and ergonomic hazards, including air sampling, noise monitoring, and radiation surveys.
• Analyze monitoring data in relation to OSHA Permissible Exposure Limits (PELs), ACGIH Threshold Limit Values (TLVs), and other relevant standards.
• Create and suggest engineering controls, administrative measures, and personal protective equipment (PPE) programs aimed at minimizing employee exposure.
• Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local occupational health regulations, including those from OSHA, EPA, NIOSH, and similar organizations.
• Compose technical reports, exposure assessments, and compliance documentation.
• Design and conduct employee training sessions on hazard communication, respiratory protection, hearing conservation, and related areas.
• Oversee or assist in the calibration and maintenance of industrial hygiene sampling equipment.
• Investigate health complaints from employees and potential exposure incidents.
• Support audits, inspections, and interactions with regulatory agencies.
• Collaborate with EHS, project management, and site superintendents to incorporate industrial hygiene practices into everyday construction operations.
• Maintain precise records of exposure monitoring, training sessions, and corrective actions taken.
• A Master's degree in Industrial Hygiene or a related field is preferred.
• A Bachelor's degree in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health, Environmental Science, Chemistry, Engineering, or a related discipline is required.
• Possession of an active Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) credential from the American Board of Industrial Hygiene (ABIH) is necessary.
• A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in industrial hygiene is required.
• Experience in commercial or industrial construction settings, particularly with exposure to silica, asbestos, lead, noise, or other jobsite hazards, is preferred.
• Additional certifications such as CSP, CHMM, or equivalent are preferred.
• Familiarity with industrial hygiene software and data management systems is preferred.
• Strong understanding of OSHA regulations, ACGIH guidelines, and methods for industrial hygiene sampling is essential.
• Experience with air sampling, noise dosimetry, and other exposure monitoring tools is required.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including proficiency in report writing, are necessary.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple projects or sites is crucial.
